Advent
The Ashiia starter pack. This track has been itterated as I grew into the skills required to finally release it. Its been a tough yet rewarding journey so far, and this track is a representation of it.
EDM has become this environment taken over by influencer marketing, where tracks are more often than not designed to fit into once big highlights reel filled with 30 second clips. It’s the space, and one could argue that its the “meta“ required to grow here.
I don’t hate the use of short form. But I strongly feel that the music itself should have its own presence. From the start, I have always told myself that I’d rather be known for the way I want to do things rather than live by the rules of the latest trend. This means taking a slow burn approach, but I’d be happier making what I love, and to not be forced to conform.. why even do this otherwise? Id much rather do something else if that was the case.
I have my vision in sight, and I work backwards from it.
Advent is designed to be an opener or a bridging track to a set. It’s got an increadibly long piano based introduction to it, a breakdown thats hard to mix into and a minimal but powerful bass driven chorus. It breaks pretty much every ‘rule‘ of modern EDM.
It’s not made to perform well in the algorithim… but its made to bridge a set.
To make tracks with intent and deliberation, this is what Advent stands for.
