Gecko

I love playing progressive tracks and bridging them into more hypnotic, rolling techno. The contrast between those two worlds is something Ive always been drawn to and surprisingly, it’s not something you hear that often.

Gecko is built for this purpose. To be that minimal but sub heavy follow up to a more top or mid heavy track.

The name comes from a small detail in the track. There’s a sampled gecko cry layered into the lead. I liked the idea of having a subtle connection to something natural within a more synthetic space.

A video from 5 years ago, featuring a house gecko cry popped up in my youtube feed. I picked up on how polyrhythmic it sounded and thats what became my starting point.
